We were excited to welcome Drs Elise McConnell and Hugh Lenehan, who respectively gave a specialised overview of orthodontic and periodontal cases, with a focus on interdisciplinary treatment planning and patient care.

ABOUT ELISE & HUGH
Dr Elise McConnell obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Adelaide in 2011. She graduated with First Class Honours as well as the Adelaide University Medal. Upon graduation, Elise spent two years working in private practice in Mount Gambier, South Australia, before moving to Sydney to complete her Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics with high distinction. She then went on to receive certification with the Australian Orthodontic Board as well as membership with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. Elise was awarded the John McDonald Medal for first place internationally in her Edinburgh College examinations, and was also awarded the Australian Society of Orthodontists prize for her treated clinical cases. Elise has been in specialist practice in Canberra for the past three years, and has lectured both locally and nationally on topics in Orthodontics.
Dr Hugh Lenehan
Following completion of a Bachelor of Medical Science degree, Hugh completed a Bachelor of Dentistry with Honours in 2009. He then worked as a Dental Officer at the Westmead Centre for Oral Health followed by private practice in Mount Gambier, South Australia. During this time, Hugh completed the primary and secondary examinations, becoming a Fellow in the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. In order to pursue a strong interest in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry, Hugh completed specialist training (Doctor of Clinical Dentistry) in Periodontics in 2016 and was awarded the Dentsply award for research in bone augmentation. He is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists, Australian Society of Periodontology and the International Team for Implantology.
